How to compress a file

  1. Drop your files above: photos, videos, PDFs or audio, mixed if you like.

  2. Pick a compression level, or a maximum size not to exceed.

  3. Click Compress, then download each file or everything as a ZIP.

How it works

Photos and images (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC)
JPGs go through MozJPEG, often 30–70% smaller with no visible difference. PNGs are optimized losslessly with OxiPNG or reduced to 256 colors. WebP and AVIF roughly halve the size again.
Videos (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI)
The video is re-encoded to H.264 at a suitable bitrate and scaled to 1080p or 720p if needed. A phone video often loses 60–90% of its size. With a target size, the bitrate is computed from the duration.
Audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG)
Audio is re-encoded to MP3 at the chosen bitrate. A WAV or FLAC file becomes 5–10 times smaller.
PDF
Images inside the PDF are downscaled and recompressed as JPEG; text and fonts stay intact and selectable.

Everything happens in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.
