How to use the Markdown editor

  1. Open a .md file or start typing. Markdown shortcuts work: # for a heading, ** for bold, - for a list.

  2. Or format with the toolbar: the Markdown is written for you.

  3. Click Save → Markdown (.md), or export to Word, PDF or HTML.

What you can do

Format like in Word
Headings, bold, italic, underline, colors, highlighting, fonts and sizes, alignment, bulleted, numbered and check lists, quotes, tables, images (inserted, pasted or dropped, resizable), links.
Open your documents
DOCX, TXT, Markdown and HTML open right in your browser. ODT, RTF and DOC are first converted on our server, then deleted. Text, headings, lists, tables, links and images are kept; fonts, colors, headers and footers aren't always.
Save in the format you need
Word (.docx) with real heading styles and real lists, PDF, OpenDocument (.odt), web page, Markdown or plain text. Or print directly.
Private, no sign-up
Your text stays in your browser: it's saved automatically on this device so you never lose it. Only PDF and ODT exports go through our server, just for the conversion.
